Founded in 1847 Ipswich Museum is one of the oldest publicly funded museums outside London.

Along with a stunning Victorian Natural History Gallery there are many fascinating displays. See The Ipswich Story which charts the development of the town from the beginnings of life on the Orwell during the Ice Age through to the modern town we know today. Delve into the Roman Suffolk display when 'Ipswich Ware' pottery was first exported to all corners of the Roman Empire. Experience the lives of ordinary people during the extraordinary times of World War I and II at the Ipswich at War Exhibition.
