Ipswich Film Theatre
East Anglia’s premier independent cinema – Ipswich Film Theatre – is right in the town centre. It screens films from around the world, both contemporary and classic, and hosts special events and education courses. The Film Theatre moves with the times and has recently started ‘Screen Babies’ – a monthly screening of a film for parents and carers of young babies. Screen Babies gives parents the chance to watch a film safe in the knowledge their baby’s coos won’t be the only ones!
Disabled people are welcome too. Both screens have induction loops for the deaf and hard of hearing. Cinema 2 and the ground floor toilets are accessible to wheelchair users. Access to Cinema 1 can be arranged if you ring ahead.
During the IP-Art festival there are often outdoor screenings of favourite films within Christchurch Park. People bring picnics and make an evening of it!
