TIS THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY

This festive musical masterpiece marked the third late night shopping opportunity for the Christmas season of 2009, with the two remaining nights running up to December 17th.
There was dancing in the streets as the ‘Five Nights of Christmas’ continued with a range of music from a percussion band, Stagecoach choir, Ipswich Hospital Band, change hand bell ringers and local samba band ‘Samboomba’.
Ipswich shoppers also joined in on a festive treasure hunt and enjoy entertainment from dancing elves, fire eaters, street jugglers and magicians performing around the Town Centre.
Each late night Thursday, shoppers will be offered the chance to win tickets to this year’s Ipswich Pantomime by scouring the Town Centre, finding Jack and The Beanstalk’s very own Daisy The Cow and asking her the question, “what’s your favourite music, Daisy?”
A magical grotto for the children of Ipswich to go and visit Santa himself was also a great success.
Paul Clement, executive director of Ipswich Central, said: “The past three weeks have proved to be incredibly successful and we are happy to have a further two festive evenings to offer the people of Ipswich.
As its the season for giving, the Thursday 10th December late night shopping extravaganza will focus on helping those who are less fortunate; there will be a chance for the community to support local charity FIND. As a Christian based charity, FIND was founded in 1990 to provide emergency assistance to families or individuals affected by poverty or dispossession. Christmas could be extra special this year for the under privileged children in Ipswich. Kind hearted people are encouraged to buy and wrap an extra gift this year of a small value, label it as ‘Boys’ or ‘Girls’ and bring it to Tower Ramparts.
