An enthusiastic crowd of would-be musicians converged on the Cornhill to enjoy Ipswich Central’s “Ipswich Sings” event.

Over 100 keen amateur singers and musicians spent Sunday afternoon rehearsing on stage for the main event singing favourites such as the Hallelujah Chorus and Nessun Dorma. The fledgling Orchestra accompanied the singers to perform masterpieces such as the William Tell Overture.

The performance was greeted with rapturous applause by the audience who demanded encores as the event climaxed with furious hankerchief waving!

Ipswich Central staff were out in force enlisting yo-yoing support for July 27th world record breaking attempt back on the Cornhill which is in partnership with The New Wolsey Theatre.
