Ipswich Park & Ride Free again for Ip-art event
13-Jun-07
Ipswich Central, the town centre BID company, in conjunction with Suffolk County Council’s suffolkonboard.com, will be operating free Park and Ride on Sunday 24th June. After an encouraging start last month, the free service is run from the three sites around Ipswich at Copdock, Asda on Bury Road and Martlesham.
Executive Director of Ipswich Central, Paul Clement explains; “This month we have put the popular service back a week to fit in with the Ip-art Art Street Fair which our sponsors are involved with. So Park and Ride will be totally free all day on Sunday 24th June to people from a big catchment area. We want to encourage as many people throughout Suffolk to come and visit Ipswich town centre utilising the free service. From next month we will revert to the regular third Sunday of the month.”
Paul went on to say; “There are many activities available in the town centre on Sundays and on 24th June the Ip-art festivities kick off with the colourful Art Street Fair, consisting of street stalls selling original art and entertainment provided by musicians and street performers. We hope you will use the Park and Ride offer into Ipswich on this exiting day!”
Since the launch of Ipswich Central in April many standards in the town centre area have noticeably improved. The Street Rangers have proved to be a very popular addition in the town. New initiatives also cover better cleaning, improved customer safety, crime reduction, more colourful planting and a new marketing campaign.
