04-May-07
Ipswich Central, the new town centre BID company, has welcomed the arrival of H&M, the fashionable Swedish retailer, into the town centre. A queue of 450 eager shoppers stretched down Tavern Street to get into the first H&M in Suffolk.
Paul Clement, Executive Director of Ipswich Central commented at the opening ceremony; “When we carried out extensive research into which retail brands were most desired by shoppers in Ipswich, H&M featured as a strong priority for the town. Clearly it is a very prestigious store to have in such a prime location in Ipswich. We wish them good wishes for successful trading in Ipswich.”
“After looking for a location in Ipswich for a number of years now, we are pleased to announce the arrival of our new H&M store,” says Magnus Olsson, UK Country Manager. “Everyone should be able to find something fashionable at H&M.”
Another significant announcement for Ipswich town centre this week is that this Sunday 6th May and for every first Sunday in the month, there will be free car parking for everyone in Ipswich at the NCP car park off Cox Lane and Tacket Street behind Woolworth’s and The Co-op, providing over 400 spaces.
