Get on your Bike!

Ipswich Central has joined forces with Suffolk County Council to encourage businesses and their employees to cycle into town in support of the national initiative bike2work week next week from 16-24 June. Visit www.bikeweek.org.uk for more information.

The bike2work promotion encourages car owners to try commuting by bike, especially for journeys of up to five miles in an urban area, when cycling can sometimes be faster than any other mode of transport. Cycling for just half an hour every day can provide enough aerobic exercise to make a real difference to everyone’s zest for life!

Paul Clement of Ipswich Central remarked just before setting off on his first appointment by bike; “This is a good, healthy initiative which we want to help promote. I would like to appeal to all town centre businesses, their staff and their customers to think more about biking into the town next week, help the environment and get fitter.”
