CROWN CAR PARK CLOSURE

Executive Director of Ipswich Central, Paul Clement has made the following statement in response to the recent announcement of the Crown Car Park permanent closure.

“Ipswich Central has worked closely with Ipswich Borough Council over the last few weeks to see if there was any opportunity to open the car park temporarily over the busy Xmas period. It is regrettable that this has not been possible, although public safety must come first and we, therefore, understand the reasons why the decision has been taken. In our role representing town centre businesses we must now continue working with Ipswich Borough Council and other transport providers on a creative solution that increases the appeal of Ipswich over the important Christmas trading period.”

The Borough Council apologises for any inconvenience and urges motorists to use alternate car parks in and around the town centre. There are over 4000 spaces and 35 public car parks available for shoppers.

A 12pp guide about Xmas in Ipswich has been produced by Ipswich Central in conjunction with Ipswich Borough Council and includes a map showing all of the town centre car park locations, numbers of spaces, and any promotional offers. It also gives details of the excellent Park & Ride service which will run until 9.45pm on every late night Thursday.

Don't forget, if you are shopping on a Sunday, take advantage of the Park for a £ promotion at Foundation Street brought to you by Ipswich Central. Click here  for more info.
