Avi Joins the Team

In response to this feedback, Ipswich Central are pleased to welcome Avi Kniznik onto the Street Ranger team.  Richard, Alex, Leon and Sophie have been showing him the ropes over the last few weeks and he is now fully versed in every aspect of the job, with Police Accreditation on the horizon.

Avi commented "I really enjoy working as part of the Street Rangers Team, the job is so varied, with no two days being the same. The positive response we get from businesses and the public alike is fantastic and makes the job very rewarding."

The Street Rangers are on patrol six days a week, within the BID area and act as a visual deterrent against crime. They work closely with the Police in an effort to combat crime that occurs within the town centre. They also have close links with the local authorities, reporting health and safety issues, graffiti and any rubbish they may see. All Street Rangers are First Aid trained and often provide immediate assistance to people in need. They are also equipped with Town Link Radio which often means they are the first on the scene to problems that are reported by other radio users. The public often use the Rangers to provide directions and advice about the Town Centre and wherever possible, they personally remove weeds and litter.

If you would like a chat with one of the Street Rangers you can always catch up with them at their Street Surgery, Monday to Friday between 12.30 and 13.30 where you will find a Ranger on the Cornhill.
